Open Seminar with Kazuo Tsumaki (Genwa) Soke, July 6th, 2012
The United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu organization is pleased to announce an opportunity to
learn directly from Kazuo Tsumaki (Genwa), the 15th Soke of Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu, during an
open seminar. This is an excellent chance to learn a Koryu sword art that until very recently was
not taught outside of Japan. All experience levels are welcome, however you must be 18 years or older. Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu is a 400-year old martial art focusing on the drawing, cutting, and
re-sheathing of a katana. Modern day practice focuses on developing body, mind and a strong
spirit. The seminar will cover the basic etiquette, and instruction on kata.
The seminar will be held: Friday, July 6th at East Lansing Hannah Community Center, East
Lansing, Michigan, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Registration deadline is June 10th. Costs will
be $60 (if you currently own a safe, usable Bokuto (wooden sword), or $100 including a Bokuto.
No Iaito, or live katana are allowed at this event.
