An Introduction to Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu
The United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu Organization is pleased to announce a seminar introducing the basic elements of Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu (traditional Japanese Swordsmanship), to be taught by Jeff Karwowski Co-Manger and Brent Eastman Co-Manger of the U.S. Tamiya Ryu Clarkston Michigan Branch. There will also be a special demonstration by Michael Gennan Alexanian Shihan of the Hombu Dojo.

$40.00 without Bokuto (Wooden Practice Sword - you will bring your own)
$60.00 with Saya Bokuto (yours to keep after the seminar).

Please contact Independence Township Parks and Recreation at (248) 625-8223 and indicate whether you will require a bokuto. Seminar fees will be paid in advance, fees for bokuto ($20) will be collected at the seminar. Please bring either cash in the exact amount, or a check. We will indicate who to make the check payable to at the registration table.

Loose, comfortable clothing. No shorts please. Standard martial arts practice uniform (keiko gi) may be used. Please bring a training belt (Obi) if you have one. Only Bokuto/Bokken can be used for this seminar! Also, some time will be spent in Seiza (traditional kneeling posture), so please feel free to bring kneepads to assist you with this.
