Michael Alexanian has been commissioned as the first foreign instructor to bring to North America one of Japan's oldest martial arts. Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu is an Intangible Cultural Asset, protected by the Japanese government and its current Soke (Headmaster) is a Living National Treasure.

The United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu Michigan Honbu Dojo currently offers Beginner
through Advanced level classes in Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu that meet on a weekly basis. For exact
